Hold your Nook upside down with the screen facing your palm.

Wedge the thumb of your free hand against the tab on the bottom center of the cover near the USB port and gently pull it away from the device. The corners will unsnap as you pull the cover back.

Slide your hand down the edge of the back cover to gently pull away the top corners and completely remove the cover.

Press a fingernail into the metal cover over the microSD card slot next to the battery and slide it toward the top of the Nook.

Lift the cover up so that it stands straight upward on the hinge.

Place the microSD card into the holder, matching up the metal contacts on the card with the metal contacts in the slot. The bottom edge of the card will be facing you, and the notch in the top of the card will be facing to the right.

Step 8

Wiggle the microSD card slightly to ensure that it is firmly in place. Gently close the metal cover. Use your fingernail to slide the cover down until it snaps into place once it is completely closed.

Step 9

Place your Nook face down on a hard surface and line up the bottom of the back cover along the bottom edge of the device.

Step 10

Press down on the back cover gently, moving from bottom to top to snap the cover back into place.

Tip

  • It may be very difficult to remove the back cover of your Nook the first time you take it off. Placing your Nook on a cushioned surface when removing the back cover will help protect the screen if you drop the device or your fingers slip.
